Battery idea confirms the lights are good. I may just have to tear into the heat shrink and recheck my connections.

Problem solved.....basic comprehension fail. I had the red and green wires switched. Back on track!

Excellent! I thought it would be something like that when you said the bulbs were good and you could still read a voltage.

The eternal question, " ... is it the red wire, or the green wire? Red or Green? RED or GREEN?!?!" :P

Finally making progress! First ever lit up warp engines....

Not sure why my pictures seem to post sideways?

Getting ready to do some saucer wiring and work myself up to the emotional event of closing her up!

This nebula class starship looks mighty fine so far!
Loved this ship design in TNG.
Hope the last steps of the build will go as planed and without problems :)

Well that worked out well. Was afraid I lost the strobe on top of the bridge in the final join-up but fortunately I left the main shuttlebay door off to have some limited access to the saucer. I was able to jiggle some wires back into place. Some detail parts, a little cleanup and it’ll be time for decals!

And done!

Lots of lessons learned on this. My first time working with PE, with this much lighting, masks, Aztecs, etc. My big wish is that the windows had come out cleaner. Again, I think I had an adhesion problem which I’ll definitely address on my next build. I love the Nebula class, but I wanted this to be a rehearsal for my -D as I’ll be doing a lot of the same techniques on that.

And of course - disaster at the very end! I was going to touch up one light leak, grabbed my squirt bottle of base color, shook it and discovered the top was open! Streaks of paint all across the model...in a panic not to get smears all over it I lightly dabbed some brush cleaner on a paper towel. The paint cleaned up on but of course, any decal it touched disintegrated. Oh well - I may send off to JT graphics for some replacements.

Very happy overall with the look, the colors and the final product. Some nips and tucks here and there, but a great conversion kit from DLM and great decals from JT Graphics! Thanks all for looking in!

Happy modeling!
Dave
